About me

I find the structure inside complicated problems.

I’m Dana Forough Dabagh, a product designer with 5+ years of experience in healthcare, insurance, and enterprise products. I turn fragmented systems and dense requirements into experiences people can use with confidence.

Background

Designing for regulated, high-stakes services

At Canada Life, I design group-benefits experiences that members use to file claims, request estimates, and manage account information. The work is regulated, so every decision has to hold up against benefit rules, platform constraints, and accessibility requirements. I work with product, business analysis, research, content, engineering, QA, and accessibility partners to get it released.

Before that, at Dialogue, I designed healthcare and B2B dashboards and led research into the tools employees used to manage customer accounts.

In both roles I focus on the same question: when do users meet complexity, and does the design still hold up once it is built?

How I work

Evidence first, then the system, then the screen

01

Find the real problem

I combine interviews, customer feedback, analytics, and workflow mapping to find what is actually causing friction.

02

Design the system, not only the screen

Navigation, terminology, entry points, and handoffs often matter as much as the interface. On the estimates project, findability was the problem, not the form.

03

Stay involved through delivery

I work with engineering, accessibility, content, and QA through design reviews and testing so the intended experience survives implementation.

Current direction

Connecting product design, accessibility, and emerging technology

I’m an admitted graduate student in the Master of Liberal Arts (ALM) program in Digital Media Design at Harvard Extension School, studying web application development, UX engineering, interactive prototyping, and creative AI.

I’m interested in how AI can reduce the cost of making information accessible. That interest is shaping my current work on tools that turn inaccessible PDF forms into accessible, code-based experiences.

Front-end skills let me prototype ideas, speak the same language as developers, and check how a design behaves beyond the Figma file.
